When you feel anxious or overwhelm, try to leave to the park where jasmine tree is blooming there. The fragrant of jasmine flowers is known to ease tension, as effective as a sedative such as Valium.

This effect was found when the researchers tested a group of rats in a cage. Shortly after the cage was sprayed perfume, the mice were suspended its activities and then silently in a corner of the cage.
Professor Hanns Hatt from Ruhr University who led the study says, the effects are in fact raised by GABA. The compounds exist naturally in the brain, serves to relief anxious.
The experiment proved, the effect of GABA would increase when inhaling fragrances. Of the hundreds of types of fragrances that tested, jasmine fragrant is the most effective because it can increases GABA up to five times, equivalent to a sedative.
"We have discovered a new class-GABA receptor modulators which could be given by parenteral (injection) and respiration. Its use for sedation, overcome anxiety, and relieve our anger," said Prof Hatt, quoted from Dailymail, Sunday (11 / 7 / 2010).

This research is also at the same time provide a scientific foundation for aroma therapy. When inhaled, fragrance molecules carrying certain signals to the brain that regulate the nerves and emotions of the limbic system.

Therapies that use fragrances for various health purposes is quite popular, and has been used since the Egyptian ancient. White jasmine (Jasminum sambac air.) or jasmine is one of the most popular type of fragrance.

Jasmine comes from the Persian language, Yasmin, which means gift from God. As the name implies, the scent of flowers is believed to provide many health benefits ranging from relaxation to solve a variety of menstrual problems and menopause.

It takes at least five million jasmine flowers to obtain approximately 1 kg of pure extract.
